Every day on Planet Earth, an average of three species become extinct – forever. It is not new to hear that, due to our frenetic activity, human beings are contributing to the planet’s Sixth Mass Extinction.

In an attempt to contain this frighteningly rapid degradation, scientists have devised a solution: the establishing of sanctuaries of great biodiversity, with increasingly threatened populations, known as Hotspots.

In this series we hope to sound the alarm, and urgently raise awareness of the perilous dangers to life that exist in Australia, Central America, the Mediterranean and Madagascar.
